Gratefulness

Kansas City Wrestling Club

It's Memorial Day 2018. It's a day to reflect on the blessings we have because of those that made the ultimate sacrifice for us. Some of our coaches are military veterans and have friends that didn't make it back from the war zones they were involved in. And because of that, we really want to focus on how blessed our wrestlers are to be able to train in a wonderful facility, with great coaches, and motivated teammates.

I remember my deployment to Iraq. During the down time between missions we would always workout and try and learn new things from each other. My buddy Trey would teach us boxing, and I would teach everyone wrestling. (And Vick would teach us guitar). My friends always told me I was destined to be a coach someday.

And here we are.

This team is an absolute blessing. Every week the wrestlers and coaches show up and give their best and improve. Everyone is learning. Everyone is fearless and is willing to fail. I seriously couldn't be happier.

And I'll end this post with a reminder of the great country we represent. The fearless men and women that fought and died so that we could compete and show the world what these kids are capable of.

Please remember my friends that didn't make it back. They are the ones that truly wanted this for us.
